An All-Star Evening

Needing to get out of the house, Craig and I decided to take a walk around all three Walt Disney World All-Star Resorts tonight.  After a short cut over to that area of Disney, we parked at All-Star Sports and started our journey.

If you didn’t know, All-Star Sports is right next to All-Star Music, which is right next to All-Star Movies. You can easily walk from one end of Sports to the very end of Movies in about half an hour- depending on how fast you walk.  We took our time, checked out the lobby, looked at the Food Court, and then headed out past the Touchdown area.  We had to walk along the room area, as the football field was under refurbishment. It was dead quiet in this area, even as we walked into the Baseball area is was eerily silent. There were only 2 kids in the pool- this was around 6:00 p.m.

We left the Baseball area to head into All-Star Music where we enjoyed the Broadway section, as we had stayed here last trip.  Little Emily had played among the street lights in her pajamas the last time we were here, so it was nice to be back to remember such a sweet time.

We headed to All-Star Movies, which is our favorite, and always feel like we are home here.  We grabbed a soda in the Food Court and chatted for an hour as we enjoyed all of the people watching. It was a little over 2 months ago that we sat in that Food Court, having just arrived in FL hours before, to start living our life’s dream- gives me goose bumps still.  We are truly happy on how we celebrated when we first got here, and I encourage all my relocating friends coming to do the same- you will ALWAYS remember the moment and the place. As we headed out of Movies, we stopped by to say hello to Herbie, who had been MOVED! He used to be next to the Winners Circle, and now is dead center in front of it.

As we headed out we took paths towards the back of the Resorts, finding all sorts of cool things we had never seen before. First we saw a grasshopper the size of a mouse, and they were EVERYWHERE!!  After getting past the hopping beasts, we found the backside of Sports- and actually saw things we had never seen before!

Who knew All-Star Sports had such cool areas? We came upon the Tennis area first where Donald is on a tennis court on one side, and Huey, Dewey, and Louie are playing on the other.  As we turned the corner, we found the coolest statue of Mickey with flags behind him and a sign that says “All-Star Resorts.”  If you are staying at ANY of the All-Stars, I would encourage you to have a family picture taken in front of Mickey and the sign.  There are steps in front of Mickey that you can stand on for the picture, so keep that in mind if you are staying at any of them.

The sun was setting and the sky was full of pinks and purples- a beautiful evening.  If you get the chance to check out these Resorts, I guarantee you will love them- especially your kids. Don’t ever forget the beauty and magic the WDW Resorts hold- you never know what you may find!

  1. Thanks for the info bout the Mickey sign. We will be sure to try to get over there and take our pic!! 🙂 5 days til I’m in WDW!! 10 days til AFP and JRL meet!! 🙂

  2. wow! Love this! We outgrew the value resorts (three kiddos) but I know my boys would love them! Maybe we will stop in for a visit someday…

  3. Good blog. We loved the movies when we stayed there. Our latest place is Pop Century. We have stayed there twice and really like it. No matter what we always stay at the park resorts, best value and good amenities.
