Fried Chicken Company…Legoland
We happened upon the “Fried Chicken Company” while visiting the Lego City area. Since we were new to this Theme Park, we honestly had no clue where to eat. And with little breakfast in our stomachs, we were quite hungry and hoped they were opening soon. Right on the dot they opened their doors at 11 a.m. and we were the first in line to see what they had to offer.
All I can compare this too is Kentucky Fried Chicken. They served 3 piece meals, tenders, with fries, baked beans, and/or coleslaw. I ordered the 3 piece meal (Chicken breast, thigh, and wing) with fries and a drink- all included in the “meal.” I was hoping to substitute fries for coleslaw, but they wouldn’t go for it. Also I asked for a breat and two wings, never been a huge fan of dark meat, but they also couldn’t do that that for me- a shame since we were the first customers of the day, would have been a nice thing for them to do for us.
Emily ordered a chicken sandwich meal which also included the fries and drink. They bag all of it up for you, which I though was odd since we were dining “in” but maybe that’s how they serve it to everyone.
The Chicken pieces were delicious, and Emily loved the Chicken sandwich. The fries were fresh and the chicken was served hot. I was pleasantly surprised by this Diner because it was a nice change of pace to eat chicken like this in a Theme Park. I’m not sure why Disney doesn’t do this, it would do well.
The Price- UNBELIEVABLE for a Theme Park! It only cost us each around $9 for the complete meal- and they INCLUDE the drink. I have eaten at other Parks to know that this is a rarity- each meal is usually $9 plus the $3 drink on top of that. AND the drink station here is for you to refill on your own, and its PEPSI products! I was happy to have my Mountain Dew at lunch yesterday! Oh and they also served Ice Tea for you Ice Tea fans out there!
The dining room was clean, but I hated the metal chairs. The kind you pull out to sit on and everyone in a 10 miles radius can hear it because they are so loud to move. You could dine indoors or at seating outside as well. The only other odd complaint I have is that they didn’t have ketchup in a pump but packets- it’s time consuming and annoying to squeeze it out when you are dining in.
I would recommend this place to dine, but I would eat earlier or later in the day. As we were leaving at noon, the line was quite long, and I can imagine that having fresh chicken may hold up ordering and wait times because of what they have to make and what is right there to order. It’s a cute diner to sit in and the food was delicious, a nice vacation from the burger norm. I hope you enjoy it too!
