Tuesday, 6.1.2021

I woke up at 3:30 a.m. incredibly anxious to get going. Funny thing I wasn’t planning on heading out until 5:00, but once I’m awake then it’s game over, time to get up. Most of my car was packed last night, so it was just about the small stuff and the sad goodbyes. I made my protein shake, hugged Craig and the kids, and took the deepest breath before getting into my car.  I made my “Morning Musings” video of my thoughts this morning before heading out, and thus, Day 1 was born.

It took me from 5:30 a.m. to about 1:30 p.m. to get from my home to Newnan, GA.  I stopped at several rest stops, and got the idea to get pics of Walter with the State signs.  I laughed probably more than I needed too at taking this first one….he looks like he is running at the camera. I LOVE it!!  I was feeling the stress and anxiety washing away with each mile, but with that new relaxed feeling came a feeling of wanting desperately to sleep.  I stopped for caffeine and a cheeseburger and was recharged again until I got to Christa’s home.

We enjoyed some great girl time and chat, catching up on life and Disney. The time flew and it was already time to head to Dunc’s for BBQ with dear friend, Martha.  Such a great hug from her and we had a detailed chat about her house being blown away by the recent tornado in Newnan this past March. Yes, you heard me right. I joked with her that there was no “Sorry your house was eaten by a Tornado” card…. but I gifted her best as possible to make her heart feel lighter.  Martha spread kindness to Christa and I as well, and it was just a beautiful evening of three women sharing stories and love.

You may see this first day as a “that’s it?” Whereas I am exhausted.  It is taking all of my energy left to write this as I am committed to getting one done every day. There wasn’t much video taken today so there will be a combined video coming later in the week.

It has started. I am doing this. It is VERY real. I think. Who knows. I need sleep. See you tomorrow.
