Day 3…”Center for Puppetry Arts” Part Four: “Dark Crystal” Collection
Thursday, June 3rd, 2021
Before we get any further in this post, please know this is PART FOUR of the “Center for Puppetry Arts” and even though you can read them separately, I don’t want you to miss out on the “Sesame Street”, “Muppet Show” and/or “Fraggle Rock” sections before this- check them out HERE. Also, there will be one more part which is “Labyrinth.”
The year was 1982, I was all of 8 years old. I wish I could tell you I saw this in Theaters, but my mom thought it looked too scary for me at the Movies and opted to watch it at home when it came to video. Another film to take me away to a beautiful place, but this film also made me scared. Those darn Skesies were terrifying as a child, and so this film always had me filled with wonder and probably my first memory of something scary on a film. Maybe that’s why we named our first-born Kyra, spelled different from the film Kira, but also, she loves scary movies so maybe there’s a connection?

I loved some of the displays here, but I would have loved to have seen more from main cast of characters from this film. Still, it was so nice to see it represented since it was one of his best in his Collection.
