Our 15th Wedding Anniversary at Disney’s California Grill PART TWO

First, this is Part TWO of our story. If you missed it, read PART ONE and come on back! Where we last left off, Craig and I were having an amazing meal at Disney’s California Grill, located high above the Contemporary Resort. We had made the reservations to coincide with sunset, so we could enjoy it from the Restaurant, and still get to the Magic Kingdom in time to see “Wishes.” For those that don’t know, “Wishes” was the nighttime fireworks show at that time. We had fallen in love with this show, especially the music, and wanted to make sure to catch it for the perfect ending to our Birthiversary.

We enjoyed our dinner for far too long, that we realized we had mere minutes to high tail it over to Magic Kingdom. Now, when I tell you we ran, we RAN. Not wanting to miss it, and Craig was VERY insistent on getting to not only the show, but a specific spot for the show, we rushed like we have never before. We ran down the path that connects the COntemp to Magic Kingdom, got through the turnstiles with no problem, hoofed it down Main Street, weaved past the Castle and around the backside by Haunted Mansion…resting finally at our favorite spot to watch.

As we both tried to catch our breaths, Craig was fidgeting around in his pocket. And with a simple, but meaningful moment, he asked me to marry him all over again with a Disney/Mickey ring he got me. It was so beautiful, I ugly cried….and then “Wishes” began. And I cried more. It was such a cool moment, and every time I walk past that spot near Winnie the Pooh in Fantasyland, I smile about it.

It was a great Birthiversary, and I just thought I would share that fun story with y’all. I hope you are having a great Monday, enjoy this week of love, and thanks for letting me share a piece of my life with the ones I love.
