My Disney Scrapbook Pages- Decorating Disney Resort Windows

Before there was a blog, before there was the DIS Boards, there was a place I hung out called “Magictrips.” In fact, I am friends with many of them to this day, and we are talking a couple of decads ago. A Disney site where common folks talked about Disney trips coming and going, I found my people and nestled right in.

One of the best things I found out while being a “newbie” to the Disney scene of ins and outs, was decorating your Disney Resort window. I had never heard of such a thing! Growing up, my folks and I didn’t string lights up at the Super 8, I think we were too tired to care. A bed, a bathroom, and it was on the road again, right? But at Disney, that’s another beast. It isn’t just staying in a room, it’s a full immerseful experience- IF YOU LET IT.

Back in 2008, I knew we had to decorate our window. Celebrating our “Birthiversary” was a big deal to us, and back then, we weren’t sure of when we would be moving to Florida, if ever. So, every trip counted, and you should ALWAYS look at it that way. I think we can get caught up in “Well we can do that next time” – who knows if we have a next time? PLAY BIG!  Not knowing really what we wanted to theme it, we found this Frankenstein at a Party store, getting lucky that Halloween stuff was out. Craig saw him and said “It’s not very Disney” – challenge accepted!  So, I made him Mickey ears, because I am amazing LOL. Then I cut out a balloon and wrote “Happy Birthday Craig”, then put in his hand the “MNSSHP” Guide Map (because we were going on this trip) and voila, Franken Dude was born. Is it ridiculous? Of course, it is! THAT IS THE POINT- celebrate, be silly, HAVE FUN!

On a side note, I don’t know if they “allow” decorating Disney Resort rooms anymore. There had been some debate, back in the day, that some of the Resorts were cracking down on them. I am sure there are some commonsense rules here- don’t put anything up that will damage the windows, take it down when you leave, keep it PG, and nothing with noise that would disturb rooms around you. Have you decorated your Resort room? I would love to hear how you did it. Here are the pages I made about it, and I am so happy I remembered to journal them…it being now 15 years later since this memory. Thanks for stopping by and make sure to stop back to see the next Disney Scrapbook layout! Missed the others? Check them out HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE! Have a great day.

****Side note, thanks to EVERYONE who have donated to my hard work. This is what I do for a living, and it is a passion for me, so tossing me a couple bucks below helps me SO MUCH with everything needed. If you can’t, please consider subscribing to the blog, LIKING the blog post, and sharing any content you enjoy– it helps me out SOOOO much! I love being able to bring you all these amazing places so that YOU can do them as well. I work mostly on donations so thanks again.
