Eating Lunch at “Trailhead Restaurant” at the Base of the Rockies
Rocky Mountain National Park, such a beautiful and peaceful place. I was so excited to share this moment, this day with Craig, and looking back it was probably one of our favorite Anniversaries/Birthdays ever. Watching that playful smile of his, dance upon his face as we took each twist and turn in the Mountains…priceless.

After such an amazing morning, we were looking for a spot to sit and eat and honestly process what a great time we had and were having. This sweet area at the base of the Rockies, right outside one of the Parks entrances, located at 3450 Fall River Road in Estes Park, is Trailhead Restaurant with shops and restrooms as well. A great stop, whether heading in or heading out, we were excited to find something close that we could take a breath and just chill.

The Trailhead Restaurant was a lodge type place, high ceilings with the log cabin feel. On one side was a small gift shop, and the other was the Restaurant. It was getting a bit windy outside, so we chose to dine indoors but with a gorgeous window view.

We both ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap and the Homemade Chili. It was so delicious having comfort food, cozy inside and enjoying my hubby’s company.

After we shopped the gift shops, with a Visitors Center here as well. We were informed that when you make your souvenir purchases at the Visitors Center, that the money goes directly into the National Parks programs, vs the other gift shops located on the Property. So we got our sweatshirts, magnet, and stickers from here. In fact, it is one of my favorite sweatshirts I wear all the time now.
We highly suggest a stop here to shop, eat, or just get a breather from the Park. A great day, a great lunch and a great memory.
